Fill the Gap - 6th Edition
The economies of Asia and Africa are growing and that is partly thanks to the rise of mobile phones, internet and outsourcing. Not only does it create job opportunities and economic prosperity, it also stimulates innovation, knowledge and creativity as well as access to international networks and markets. However, the question is whether the rise of this new industry also has a positive impact on the quality of life of the average citizen in Africa and Asia. What conditions are needed to realise a solid cross-pollination between international companies and local entrepreneurs? Is there a role to play for the public sector? For civil society? If so, what? In short: how the benefits of the ICT-boom be maximised?
