Yordanos Seifu Estifanos
Mr. Yordanos S. Estifanos is a graduate with MA in European Masters in Migration and Intercultural Relations (EMMIR) at the University of Oldenburg, Germany. He also earned MSc. in Population Studies from Addis Ababa University. He was a research fellow at the Bielefeld Graduate School in History and Sociology (BGHS) in Germany researching on Transnational Migration, and a visiting scholar at the University of Bonn for the Spring School on “Global Transformation towards Sustainability”. Furthermore, Mr. Estifanos recently completed a researcher project on “Migration Industries in Transnational Migration Project” coordinated by the University of Sussex, in UK. He has a wealth of research experience, especially in irregular migration from Ethiopia to South Africa.

Dr. Linda Adhiambo Oucho
Dr. Linda Adhiambo Oucho is an established migration expert leading the African Migration and Development Policy Centre (AMADPOC), a research think tank leading policy-based research on migration and development issues in Eastern Africa and beyond. In addition to her position as the Executive Director at AMADPOC, Dr. Oucho is also a Research Advisor for “Gendering Migration: Women and Girls Experiences of Gender base Discrimination, Abuse and Violence across Migratory Stages” at Masstrict Univrsity in the Netherland. She holds a PhD in Ethnic Relations from the University of Warwick, where she specialized in international migration of African Women. Her research focuses on internal regional migration patterns within Eastern Africa including projects related to poverty, climate change and more recently youth, employment and migration. In addition, she supports countries to develop their national migration policies in line with the guiding principles outlined in the African Union, Migration Policy Framework for Africa (2018).

Dr. Felicty Okoth
Felicity Okoth is a migration specialist with 5 years of research and pedagogic experience drawn from working with think tanks based in East Africa. She is a research officer at the African Migration and Development Policy Centre (AMADPOC) and a Tutorial Fellow in the Department of Political Studies/Communication Studies at Moi University. She teaches undergraduate courses touching on International Migration and Intercultural Relations in the Department of Political Science on a part-time basis and, the Department of Communication Studies. Felicity holds a master’s degree in International Migration and Ethnic Relations from Malmo University, Sweden and is currently pursuing a Ph.D., which focuses on refugee resilience in Kalobeyei Settlement-Kenya.

Prof. Dr. Bolade Eyinla
Professor Bolade Eyinla holds a doctorate degree in History from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria and a Postgraduate Diploma in International Relations and Development from the Institute of Social Studies, the Hague. In the last 32 years, he gathered working experience in training, policy and applied research and capacity development at national and international levels in the area of democracy and governance; foreign and development aid policy analysis; migration and development. He has ten years of practical working experience in Nigeria and across West Africa in election management, as well as in the monitoring and observation of the electoral process based on the Electoral Cycle approach with specific reference on the assessment of EMB election preparedness.

Akinjide Olatuyi
Mr. Olatuyi is the director at the Policy Consult – a Non-Government Organization (NGO) in Nigeria. The NGO is dedicated to research, advocacy, capacity building and policy development in international migration, peace building, conflict transformation and Africa regional integration
Among his on-going projects is the “Evaluation of the EU’s external action support in the area of migration (2008-2018) in Nigeria” where he helps finalize the project agenda for the country’s assessments of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges to migration projects’ performance between (2008 and 2018). Also, he is one of the key Experts on the Review of Nigeria’s 2014 Migration Profile. In February 2020, he assisted in disaggregating complex migration configurations leading to the development of National Action Plan for the implementation of the Global Compact on Migration (GCM) in Nigeria.

Oluwafemi Moses Abe
Abe Oluwafemi holds a Masters degree in Public Policy and Political Analysis from the National Research University, Higher School of Economics Moscow, Russia, and in 2017, submitted a thesis on ‘Anti Human Trafficking policies in Nigeria and Russia: Case of sex slavery,’ to the department. Since 2019, Femi has been collaborating as a Research Fellow with the University IUAV Venice on the INSigHT Action, a project sponsored by the European Commission and implemented by the International Center for Migration and Policy Development (ICMPD).

David Yawo-Mensah Tette graduated from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in 1998 with a B.Sc. in Biochemistry before furthering his career in Germany at the Technical University of Berlin in 1990 with an M.Sc. in Food Technology. Dr. Mary Boatemaa Setrana
Dr. Mary B. Setrana is a Senior lecturer at the Centre for Migration Studies, University of Ghana, Legon whereas the first female lecturer to be appointed to this position. Her Masters and PhD theses focused on exploring pre-post experiences and activities of return migrants to Ghana (Both voluntary and involuntary migrants). Her PhD in Migration Studies was a sandwich program between Radboud University, the Netherlands, and the University of Ghana. She teaches qualitative migration research methods, gender and migration, transnational migration and diasporas and social change, migration and development among others.

Prof. Dr. Joseph Teye
Professor Joseph Kofi Teye is the Director of the Centre for Migration Studies (CMS) of the University of Ghana. He is also an Associate Professor of Migration and Development in the Department of Geography and Resource Development of the University of Ghana. He holds a PhD in Human Geography from the University of Leeds and a Master of Philosophy Degree in Social Change from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. Dr. Aly Tandian
Prof. Aly Tandian is Lecturer and Researcher in Sociology at the University Gaston Berger de Saint-Louis in Senegal, a Titular Lecturer for African Universities of the Conseil African et Malagache pour l’Enseignement Supérieur (CAMES) and a Lecturer at the European Academy in Berlin, Germany. To date, he defended a doctoral thesis in sociology at the University of Toulouse 2 Le Mirail in France where he later taught for several years before joining the Sociology department of Gaston Berger University. Through his academic career, Mr. Tandian has supervised many doctoral theses in Senegal, Spain and France.

Badara Ndiaye
Mr. Ndiaye completed his BA studies in English at University Cheikh Anta Diop in Senegal, after which he graduated in Education and Applied Pedagogy in École Normale Supérieure (Dakar). Dr. Mehdi Lahlou
Mehdi Lahlou is a Doctor of State in Economic Sciences, University Paris-I, Panthéon-Sorbonne (Paris, France), 1982. He received his Bachelor of Economics at Mohamed V University, Rabat where he is now a professor and associate researcher. Dr. Lahlou has in-depth knowledge of the issue of international migration and analyses the various migratory flows in the Mediterranean and between the Maghreb and the EU. Fatma Khalaf
