October 25 2016, The Potential of Diaspora Advocacy
The aim of the seminar was to enable diaspora development practitioners in the Netherlands to dialogue on the potential of advocacy in achieving their respective development priorities effectively. The seminar enabled sharing of best practices and experiences. During the seminar diaspora development practitioners were provided with the opportunity to engage with traditional civil society organisations and establish viable strategic partnerships with more established diaspora organisations at different levels. October 10-14 2016, Peacebuilding Training Workshop
The African Diaspora Policy Centre (ADPC) in cooperation with The Hague Academy for Local Governance (THA) and The Network University (TNU) launched the Diaspora Academy. The overall objective of the Diaspora Academy (DA) is to upgrade and strengthen professional skills and competences of diaspora organisations in Europe engaged in improving the social and economic conditions and communal harmony in their countries of origin. October 3- 7 2016, Training Workshop on Capacity Building for Diaspora-oriented Officials in Somalia
ADPC is pleased to announce the completion of the capacity building training for Diaspora-oriented officials in Somalia. The training workshop is designed to respond to capacity deficits affecting the performance of emerging Diaspora-oriented government institutions in Africa. The targeted beneficiaries of the training are the government policymakers tasked with overseeing Diaspora engagement in development-related matters in their respective regions. Read more here.
September 23 2016, Partnerships for Peace: Engaging with Diaspora
On the 23rd of September 2016, the African Diaspora Policy Centre (ADPC) organised a seminar entitled “Partnerships for Peace: Engaging with Diaspora”. During the seminar, an interactive and open exchange of experiences among diaspora organizations, NGOs and policymakers took place, focusing on the challenges and opportunities in creating partnerships in the field of peacebuilding. September 5-9 2016, Advocacy and Lobby Training Workshop
The Advocacy and Lobby training organised by ADPC in collaboration with The Hague Academy of Local Governance (THA) will take place in The Hague from 5-9 Septemeber 2016. The training is aimed at supporting diaspora development practitioners to design and implement lobby and advocacy strategies and to formulate their priorities effectively. June 6-10 2016, Peacebuilding Training Workshop
ADPC is pleased to announce the completion of the Peacebuilding Workshop organised by ADPC in collaboration with The Hague Academy of Local Governance (THA). The objective of the training was to widen and to strengthen the peace building capacities of diaspora organisations so that their activities contributing to peace and social stability in their countries of origin will become more effective and enduring. April 4-8 2016, Third Lobby and Advocacy Training Workshop
ADPC is pleased to announce the completion of the third Lobby and Advocacy Training Workshop, in collaboration with The Hague Academy of Local Governance (THA), that was held during 4 - 8 April 2016 in The Hague. The workshop was targeted at African diaspora organisations in Europe that want to increase their capacities as agents of change contributing to the development in their country of origin. November 5th 2015, Diaspora Conference on the Great Lakes Region

August 27th 2015, Peacebuilding Expert Meeting
ADPC held an expert meeting on peacebuilding. The aim of the meeting was to facilitate the diaspora peace activists in the Netherlands to network among themselves, establish viable contacts, learn from each other’s peace related activities and exchange valuable information.
